Back on April 4th the Rangers signed Elvis Andrus to an 8 year, $118 million contract extension that keeps the young shortstop in Texas laundry for a lot of years, those being his “prime” years.  While most fans were ecstatic about the extension when it was announced, the enthusiasm for Elvis and his new deal slowly started to lose it’s luster after Elvis got off to a slow start in 2013. Some people even called for him to be traded this year at the trade deadline.
Of course those people are just reacting to his offense, and it is simply a kneejerk reaction because they pull hard for the Rangers. Secretly, I’d wager they love Elvis like the rest of us do. But disappointment can be cruel and people lash out, especially on social media. It’s easy to do. But Elvis brings so much more to the table than batting average. Elvis’ defense has been superb this year, and the days of him throwing the ball into the fifth row are over, but people only care about the offense and do not look at the whole picture.

But there is one person that has stood by Elvis for the duration. Despite the offensive struggles he was never waived in support of Andrus. Even during Andrus’ worst stretches at the plate, Sean Bass of SportsRadio 1310 “The Ticket” has stood by Elvis like Tammy Wynette stood by her man. Below are a few of Sean’s #ElvisBall tweets. We hope you find these as entertaining as we did.
